Frankenstein
A Re-design
Collaboration
by Studio 634
A collaborative project focused on re-designing Mary Shelly’s classic.
Studio 634 is a design studio that emerged from Southern Utah University, founded by the talented minds of Sami Wilson, DJ Wilson, Zoë Petersen, and myself. Our primary objective was to breathe new life into the timeless tale of Frankenstein, paying homage to its literary heritage while infusing it with fresh perspectives. To achieve this, we employed a diverse range of artistic techniques, such as photography, mixed media, skillful illustration, and cutting-edge AI-generated artwork. The outcome of our collaborative efforts is an extraordinary visual experience that not only honors the essence of the classic novel but also unveils intriguing layers that invite viewers to explore the depths of the story in unparalleled ways.
Above is a brief look at the book’s first pages to showcase the use of spot illustration, full-page, and half-page design work. All typography, imagery, and other elements were laid out by our group.
